Saad College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences

The vital role played by nurses is often, and mistakenly, under appreciated. Central not only to Saad Specialist Hospital’s success, but also to its entire approach, is the importance of excellence at every level and it is the Hospital’s nurses who exemplify this philosophy,

The Saad College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (The College), located within the Saad Specialist Hospital campus, was established in a unique partnership with the United Kingdom’s University of Ulster. Awarded its licensure by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Higher Education in 2006, the College’s mission is to be a leading academic institute for young Saudi women wishing to pursue a career in the nursing profession.

The College Facilities

Students at The College have access to a level of education of the highest academic standard, where evidence-based practice and cutting-edge technology combine in a safe and cultural oriented environment.

The College’s campus comprises 25 classrooms spread over four floors. There are ten laboratories, two English language learning laboratories, a recreational room, a cafeteria, a fully equipped library, and an e-learning center.

The College Curriculum

Students enrolling for the Bachelor of Science degree in nursing undergo five years of rigorous and rewarding tuition. The entirely English curriculum is specifically designed to maximise theoretical knowledge, as well as teach practical and clinical skills before students become registered nurses.

The first four years consist of both College-based learning and clinical out-placements in supervised environments. The final year of the course offers students an internship in a clinical practice, offering them the opportunity to consolidate their skills and knowledge.

Upon successful completion of the internship programme, each student will be awarded a BSc degree and an internship certificate, fully endorsed by the University of Ulster.  In addition, students are also encouraged to pursue an advanced nursing degree outside of Saudi Arabia prior to commencing work for Saad Specialist Hospital.
