The department’s mission is to be the leading comprehensive center for quality surgical service. It aims to meet the needs and expectations of the Saudi population and of the surrounding Gulf countries, and to advance to the highest standards in surgical care through practice.
The Department of Surgery is committed to excellence, innovation, and leadership in meeting the health care needs of the people it serves, improving community health, and providing the very best surgical care.
SCOPE OF SERVICE
The General Surgery team comprises internationally qualified, skilled, and experienced professionals, backed by the latest technology and state-of-the-art equipment.
In addition to all general surgical procedures, a number of specialty services are provided by the department and include:
- Hepatobiliary surgery.
- Upper gastrointestinal surgery.
- Lower gastrointestinal surgery.
- Endocrine and breast surgery.
- Minimally invasive surgery.
- Surgical oncology.
- Trauma and emergency service.
The General Surgery team also plays an active role in numerous multidisciplinary diagnostic and treatment collaborations, including the Obesity Center and the Breast Center. By consulting with other experts, the surgeons are able to share and receive best practice on any medical or patient issues that may have arisen.
FUTURE SERVICES
Saad Specialist Hospital will apply the information-age revolution for surgery. Telesurgery, robotic surgery, teleducation, virtual reality, and surgical simulation are the next steps in our program.
