Nursing

The Department of Nursing at Saad Specialist Hospital is committed to care, comfort, compassion, safety, and quality of nursing practice. The department recognizes that dimensions of a patient’s well-being can be affected by an illness and hospitalization. The support provided to patients requires an understanding of the physical, social, psychological, cognitive-perceptual, and cultural-spiritual aspects of health.

Knowing when and in what way to most effectively approach and assist our patient and families requires a motivation to care, the ability to integrate multiple dimensions of a patient’s response to illness, and draws upon the skill and judgment acquired through a lifetime of learning.

The department’s standards are kept current by adopting those that are internationally recognized and by using evidence-based practices gleaned from current literature and molded by local experiences.

MISSION

The Department of Nursing serves to provide culturally sensitive, contemporary nursing care focused on alleviating suffering, promoting health and well-being, and maximizing independent functioning in a safe and comfortable environment.

As health care continues its technological advancement, nursing seeks to balance this with compassion and individualized thoughtful care.

SCOPE OF SERVICE

The department promotes a multidisciplinary approach to care at Saad Specialist Hospital, with nurses as partners with the various physicians and allied health colleagues. At all levels of the organization, nursing has a voice and an ear and readily contributes to the collective efforts required for a positive experience for our patients with the hospital. This reflects one of Saad Specialist Hospital’s core beliefs: that effective teamwork is essential to the standard of care our patients expect and that nursing strives to provide.

As Saad Specialist Hospital continues to develop its service complexity, the department’s nursing staff expands in volume, skill, ability, and sub-specialization.
