Nursing
Preamble
Saad Specialist Hospital is a center of excellence in nursing practice based on solid foundation of nursing philosophy, standards and an ambitious vision.
The fundamental responsibilities of a nurse is to promote health, prevent illness, restore health, and alleviate suffering.
Introduction
The Department of Nursing at Saad Specialist Hospital is committed to care, comfort, compassion, safety and quality of nursing practice. The Department recognizes that dimensions of a patient’s well-being can be affected by an illness and hospitalization. The support provided to patients requires an understanding of the physical, social, psychological, cognitive-perceptual and cultural-spiritual aspects of health. Knowing when and in what way to most effectively approach and assist our patient and families, requires a motivation to care, the ability to integrate multiple dimensions of a patient’s response to illness, and draws upon the skill and judgment acquired through a lifetime of learning.
The Department’s standards are kept current by adopting those that are internationally recognized and usingevidence-based practices gleaned from
current literature then and molded by local experiences.
